George and Harriet Fulton named their home Oakhurst, which means “home in the oaks.” Built in the 1870s, the Fulton Mansion surely appeared unusual rising from the flat terrain
of the, then, sparsely populated Live Oak Peninsula. George’s and Harriet’s talents and tastes are apparent in the unusual architecture, advanced mechanical systems, and stylish interiors of their home.
