The year 2013 marks the fiftieth anniversary of Scott & White Healthcare at its location on “The Hill” in Temple, Texas. The history of this medical institution goes back much farther than 1963 and it continues as a thriving present-day entity, maintaining leading-edge healthcare and technology. This book celebrates the golden anniversary on “The Hill,” with archival photographs and narrative, giving the reader a look back to the beginning when the teamwork of Dr. Arthur C. Scott Sr. and Dr. Raleigh R. White Jr. paved the way for the creation of the hospital. The story continues with the growth and movement of the hospital in both services and locations, as expansion and development provided Scott & White Healthcare with opportunities to increase quality patient care. This anniversary volume is presented with pride in the continued tradition of high-quality standards and of innovative patient care which Scott & White Healthcare has maintained throughout the years. From the early days to the present, Scott & White Healthcare has followed the principles outlined by its founding fathers, always innovating and providing the best available skills and medical practices for the good of the patient.
