Making Life Better • The Story of Southern Pine Electric Power Association

December 6, 2018 By Terry Epps Leave a Comment

The information within these pages comes from numerous sources and recollections of directors, employees, members, and community leaders. Our sincere gratitude goes to the people who contributed their time and expertise toward developing the content of this book and to Mr. Don Jordan for his valuable assistance during the course of this project. Without his support of this undertaking, the book would not have been possible.

The primary goal in compiling this history is to give an account of the life and times of our members and employees, who are Southern Pine. To understand why there was a need for the cooperative, we have shared a glimpse of how our members lived before electricity. The need for Southern Pine came from one fact—the desire to make life better.
